Creative Activities for Every Age Group

To begin with, playschool children explored Sunflower art using tissue rolls and bubble wrap dabbing techniques. They also enjoyed sensory painting using bright colors and their own hands, fostering sensory development. Junior K.G. students experimented with swirl art in yellow, green, and blue paints on black chart paper. Meanwhile, Senior K.G. kids created sunflower art through finger painting and chalk work on black charts. Altogether, around 200 students participated in this colorful celebration of imagination and creativity.

Bringing Van Gogh to Life for Young Minds

Children explored Van Gogh’s famous works like The Starry Night, Sunflowers, and Irises through hands-on activities. They recreated swirling skies, flower fields, and bold brush strokes using accessible materials like crayons and sponges. Storytelling sessions helped children connect emotionally to Van Gogh’s life and art in an age-appropriate way. These sessions also encouraged them to express their own feelings using vibrant colors and textures.

Aligned with NEP-2020 Vision

Bloomingdales is among the first schools to implement NEP-2020’s vision of holistic and experiential learning. Teachers used this opportunity to show how art connects imagination, emotions, and nature in meaningful ways. This approach helped children express creativity, develop fine motor skills, and build emotional intelligence.

Inclusive and Joyful Learning

From sponge dabbing to finger painting, all materials used were tailored to suit young learners’ abilities. This made the activities inclusive and ensured children felt confident while exploring their creativity. Every classroom buzzed with laughter, excitement, and color as children freely created their own masterpieces.

Leadership Message on Creativity

Principal Damayanti Bhattacharya shared her thoughts on nurturing creativity from an early age. “At Bloomingdales, we believe art is about feeling, freedom, and fun—not perfection,” she emphasized. “World Art Day allows children to discover self-expression through colors and emotion,” she added.
