Funding Details

Mumbai/New Delhi, 19th Feb 2025 – DeepTech Startup Probus Smart Things has raised $5 million in Series A1 funding led by Unicorn India Ventures. The round also attracted investments from notable US-based and Indian family offices. This latest funding, a mix of equity and debt financing, brings Probus’ total funding to over $8 million.

Scaling Smart Grid and AI Integration

Probus is revolutionizing last-mile power distribution by offering integrated connectivity and data analytics solutions for energy management. The startup aims to use the funds to scale its communications technology stack into multiple smart grid and renewable applications. Additionally, it plans to integrate AI into its patented communications and networking stacks, further strengthening its technological edge.

Expansion in Smart Metering Technology

The company will also invest in expanding its innovative dual communications network interface modules for smart metering. Currently, these modules are being deployed across various states in India. This advancement is expected to enhance efficiency, reduce distribution losses, and drive large-scale adoption of smart metering solutions.

Rapid Growth and Innovation

Since its last funding round in 2023, Probus has seen tremendous growth. The startup’s revenue has surged by 10X, and its order book now stands at INR 400 crore. Additionally, Probus has filed four new patents, tripled its workforce, and inaugurated a state-of-the-art Innovation Center in Noida, with project offices in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Anil Joshi, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, highlighted Probus’ disruptive impact on last-mile power distribution. He emphasized the company’s tech-driven solutions, AI integration, and commitment to continuous innovation as key factors behind their ongoing investment.
